When you wake up every morning in a country that you’re passionate about, where diversity and cultural richness are evident with every step, and, to top it off, it’s the mecca of safaris, it’s impossible not to want to share with the world how lucky you are!
We are Raffy and Bea, the founders of Kitambo, deeply in love with Kenya, its landscapes, its people, and its culture. We’ve been living in Nairobi for years, although we constantly travel all over the country to keep discovering new corners, from the major national reserves to the lesser-visited villages.
After our experience in cooperation and tourism in Kenya, in 2019 we decided to start a journey together and create Kitambo, a local tour operator where we poured all our knowledge and passion for this country. Now, we not only live doing what we love the most, but this project is also our way of giving back to Kenya for all it gifts us every day. We empower local development, ensure that our travels have a positive impact, and promote responsible tourism.

Our second honeymoon. A trip that can change your life because Kenya is much more than just animals. Traveling in April is perfect to get rid of the crowds and enjoy great weather. Without a doubt, doing it with @kitambosafaris was our best decision. Their service, organization, and communication were perfect. We said over and over again that every euro spent on traveling with them is worth it. We would repeat it 10,000 times!
We discovered Kitambo through Instagram, and it conveyed such positive vibes that we chose to travel with them. It was undoubtedly the best decision. From the very beginning, Bea took great care of us, staying attentive to our journey every step of the way, and everything was incredible. Our guide, Frank, was a wonderful person and a true professional, whom we also wholeheartedly recommend. We believe it’s worth traveling with people who know the country and both the touristy and off-the-beaten-path routes well so they can tailor the experience to each person’s desires. After having to postpone the trip in 2020, we finally made it to Kenya in September 2022, and we can only say that the wait was absolutely worth it. From the moment we arrived at the airport and found Frank waiting for us, we knew instantly that it was going to be THE trip. Bea and Raffy are all about love and dedication, and that’s what makes the adventure perfect. They cared for us before, during, and after the trip, always ensuring that we cherished every moment ♥️ Moreover, if anyone has any fears or hesitations, let us tell you, they all vanish there. It’s an unforgettable journey, and we can’t wait to go back. And, of course, always with the Kitambo family. Africa has stolen our hearts!
Not only Kitambo met our expectations in Kenya, they exceeded them! Right from the start, dealing with Bea couldn’t have been better (she cares about every detail before, during, and after the trip). I don’t think there’s a company out there that shows you Kenya in such a unique and personal way. Last year, I decided to join one of the group safaris even though I was traveling solo, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Right from the start, they connected me with the traveler I would share a room with to see if we’d get along. And during the trip, despite being the only solo traveler, I felt incredibly welcomed and like a part of the group—we became a little family. I recommend it 100% to everyone, but especially to solo travelers 🙂
We’re already on the plane back home, going through all the photos, and I still can’t believe all the moments we’ve experienced. These past 10 days have been filled with laughter, confidences, and getting to know a country where I undeniably left a piece of myself… Thanks to @kitambosafaris for organizing this trip and fulfilling the dream I’ve had since I was a child. We are usually independent travelers, but honestly, we couldn’t be happier to have had this incredible group experience with the best guide, Raffy. Everything we experienced was spectacular, and the truth is, no matter what we say, it falls short. It’s an experience that truly deserves to be lived. From the safari, where we were very fortunate to see the Big Five, to the Mara River crossing and the leopard hunt, not forgetting the wonderful experience of living with a Masai tribe. Everything has been amazing and has far exceeded our expectations.
After many years of wanting to experience Kenya firsthand, we discovered Kitambo through some friends, and that’s when we knew it was with them that we should embark on this adventure. That first video call with a thousand questions and one thing clear: Kitambo was the best choice! These have been incredible days, undoubtedly the most beautiful experience of our lives! We had an incredible experience! From the very beginning, we felt embraced and supported, just like a member of the Kitambo family. Bea and Raffy are fantastic; they answered all our questions before and during the trip preparations. The places we’ve been to have been amazing, from local markets to Masai Mara. When you think of Kenya, you typically think of a safari. We were fortunate enough to experience it beyond that. Of course, we had a safari, which was spectacular, but we also got to understand the local way of life better, cooked their typical dishes, shared the Maasai culture, strolled through their markets… and all of this was led by the nicest Kikuyu in Kenya, with fellow travelers who sought the same experiences as us. The adventure has come to an end, and I have no words to express my gratitude for everything I’ve experienced. A solo journey that began with fear and uncertainty has turned into one of the best experiences of my life. We’ve been incredibly lucky to have @kitambosafaris as the organizers of this amazing trip. We’ve experienced Kenya to the fullest for 10 days with a fantastic group of fellow travelers, from the other travelers to the guides. We don’t think there’s any other option besides Raffy and Bea to visit this country; we’re sure of it: we’ll return to Kenya with Kitambo Safaris.
As the safari comes to an end, all I can say is: incredible. I hope I never forget that feeling of standing up, with the roof open, feeling the breeze and the scent of Nakuru, Naivasha, and Masai Mara on my face. Nor the sensation of that sunset, watching the plains filled with giraffes strolling by. We’ve seen the Big Five and so much more. And I don’t think I could ever get tired of it.
